Remember those long conversations you used to have? You hung out with a trusted friend, and you just talked. Silly stuff, serious stuff, hopes, fears, dreams.

You didn’t have the responsibilities that you carry now. You didn’t have all those “do this, do that” imperatives tugging at your brain.

You just talked.

For a long time.

And…

Your perspective shifted.

Your opinions changed.

Your ideas flourished.

If you try hanging out with Kelly Sargent’s blog – called “Hey Look Something Shiny” – you might find yourself having a similar experience.  She just talks to you.  And you can talk back.

Kelly was a perspective-shifting, opinions-changing, ideas-flourishing friend with whom I was fortunate enough to spend many hours of formative time in my 20’s. Now I can share her with you.

I invite you to hang out with Kelly at “Hey look, something shiny.”

Three of my favorites are:

  •  “What’s it going to take?”  — in the turbulent wake of the massacre in Ulvalde, Kelly Sargent succinctly puts it all together. Should be required reading for all legislators.
  •  “Backwards and in high heels” – what do Ginger Rogers, Kentaji Brown Jackson, Marin Alsop and basketball have in common?
  •  “A little gift from me to you” – something to read, something to watch, something to listen to.

All the best,

Suzanne
